Annual events:
National Night Out
National Night Out is a nation wide event that is celebrated each year on the first Tuesday in August. The event helps unite neighbors and sends a unified message to criminals that the neighbors are organized and will not allow crime and drugs in our communities. There will be a kick-off picnic for people who organize their block's National Night Out that will be June 3, 2009 at the Como Park Pavilllion from 6:00 to 7:30 PM.
Neighborhood Cleanup
The 2009 Neighborhood Cleanup will be held on Saturday, Sept 26th from 8am-1pm at the State Fairgrounds.
Home Tour
The Council may be holding a home tour in 2010, so stay tuned for more information.
Kasota Ponds Cleanup
The Kasota Ponds serve as an important habitat and ecologically functioning part of our neighborhood, so the SAP Environment Committee continues to provide opportunities for neighbors to get involved. Every spring there is a Kasota Pond Cleanup, traditionally held close to Earth Day. Children are welcome and there is always an interesting treasure revealed from the spring thaw.
St. Anthony Park Arts Festival
The annual St. Anthony Park Arts Festival presents more than 100 artists displaying pottery, fiber arts, paintings and jewelry, an eclectic array of nontraditional work such as metal sculptures, handmade paper, clothing, garden objects, tradition folk arts and more. Admission is free.
St Anthony Park Garden Club 2009 Garden Tour
The SAP Garden Club is an organization of gardeners mostly from the lovely, historic neighborhood of St. Anthony Park in St. Paul. The Club raises funds with these tours for educational programs related to gardening and the environment, maintaining gardens at the local library and the Minnesota State Horticultural Society Garden at the State Fair Grounds, tree planting, invasive species removal, and scholarships for horticultural students at the University of Minnesota.
4th of July
Although the 4th of July event is not a function of the St. Anthony Park Community Council, you may contact us and we will have the parade coordinator get back to you with details and ensure that you are in the line-up.
Progressive Dinner
A group of volunteers organizer a progressive dinner every February. It’s a great opportunity to meet your neighbors, enjoy a special meal, and have great conversations! Come alone or come with a friend! Join us at the Methodist Church at Como and Hillside for appetizers, and receive your schedule for the evening.
