Dog Day of Summer

Bring your doggie buddies to Langford Park on Saturday, August 14th for the second annual dog wash from 10 am to 4 pm to support start-up costs for the future dog park on Xcel Energy property under the High Bridge. There will be food vendors, information booths, flyball and dog agility demonstrations. We will be there rain or shine. Dogs will be washed (and dried!)  and each shiny clean dog will get a super cool doggie bandana.

Volunteers are needed to help with the Dog Wash and also to help in other areas such as ticket taking, set-up and clean-up. Dog washers must like dogs and be able to bend, squat, pour water over dogs, soap them up and rinse. Should be wearing old clothes, water shoes, have a sense of humor and be willing to get wet. We also need dog driers. Shifts are for 1 and a 1/2 hours at the dog wash and off-leash park. 1 hour for set-up and clean up. We did this last year at Newall Park and had a ball. Volunteers will get a free hotdog and drink at the food stand and a whole lot of puppy love and people appreciation.

Donations of towels (old, frayed, stained are great) and newspaper bags are needed. They can be dropped off at 2202 Blake by Friday, August 13.
