Construction is expected to be completed November 25, 2009 but could change depending on the weather.

BNSF Bridge Construction - Closing Raymond Avenue

BNSF will be closing Raymond Avenue to reconstruct the railroad bridge just north of Energy Park Drive.  They expect to be done November 25, 2009. People on bikes are being asked to detour as indicated by signs on site and pedestrians will be transported across by shuttle.

Highway 280 Update

October 20, 2009

Motorists will encounter single-lane traffic on north and southbound Hwy 280 in Roseville until late next week as crews build a new center median and remove the turn lanes at Ramsey County Road B. The two inside lanes of the roadway were closed Oct. 19.

Broadway St. at Hwy 280 in Roseville also closed Oct. 19 for additional sanitary sewer work and repaving at the intersection by the city of Roseville. The roadway will remain closed for approximately four weeks. The closure will not affect traffic on Hwy 280.

During the closures, motorists must follow the posted detours or use alternate routes to avoid congestion and delays.

Access between Hwy 280 and County Road B was permanently closed east of Hwy 280 in August, 2007 and crews are currently building a berm and cul de sac at the west end of County Road B.

The Larpenteur Avenue bridge and ramps between southbound Hwy 280 and Larpenteur Avenue are currently expected to reopen early next week to handle additional traffic displaced by the closure of Broadway Street.

University Avenue: Soil borings to begin in late July along Central Corridor

From late July through November, crews will take borings generally in the parking lanes on the entire length of the Central Corridor Light Rail Transit route to collect soil and water samples so they can be analyzed for the presence of possible contamination. Drilling also will be done on some private property with owners' written permission. The information will be used to develop plans to properly handle any contaminated soil and ground water affected by LRT construction, which will begin in late summer 2010.

Parking lanes will be closed on one side of the street at a time. Work will be performed in one- to two-block sections, and crews should advance the work by a block or two every couple of days. Parking lanes in any given two-block stretch should be closed for only a couple of days.
