Members will advise on development of Saint Paul’s bicycle infrastructureSAINT PAUL – With the City Council’s
adoption of the Saint Paul Bicycle Plan on March 18, work is slated to begin immediately on planning for two 8-80 Vitality projects that will bring the most significant additions to the city’s bicycle infrastructure: creation of a Downtown Bike Loop and completion of the Saint Paul Grand Round. Mayor Chris Coleman is seeking applicants for two community advisory committees to guide the work of City staff and consultants on these planning efforts.The Mayor will appoint 20-25 members to each advisory committee. Committee members will be expected to represent the broader interests of their communities and actively engage in expanding the conversation beyond the committee itself.
Both committees will begin work in early April and will meet once a month for up to a year.
- The Downtown Bike Loop Community Advisory Committee will meet on the second Thursday of each month from 4:00 – 6:00 p.m.
- The Grand Round Community Advisory Committee will meet on the third Tuesday of each month from 6:00 – 8:00 p.m.
Those interested in serving on either committee should submit the application available here by Monday, March 30, 2015, to City Planner Anton Jerve at Anton.Jerve@ci.stpaul.mn.us. Those selected will be notified in early April.
