Ways to Get Involved
Volunteer
Do you love gardening? Have planning or organizing skills? Love door knocking? There are so many ways to help.
Browse volunteer opportunities with SAPCC and other neighborhood groups, or let us know how you’d like to get connected.
Join a Committee
Care about equity, the environment, land use, or transportation? Our four volunteer committees are where neighbors dig into the issues. Meetings are open to everyone.
Come to three meetings of a committee and you can serve as a member.
Community Garden
Grow your own vegetables and flowers, or help tend beds that grow fresh produce for neighbors at Seal Hi-Rise.
Returning gardeners renew first each year, and open plots go to a lottery. 2026 applications closed March 2.
Cleanups & Restoration
Each spring, neighbors clean up the Kasota Ponds wetlands and South St. Anthony Park on Earth Day. This year’s two cleanups pulled out more than 100 bags of litter.
Buckthorn removal workdays continue across multiple seasons. See Kasota Ponds, Earth Day, and Buckthorn Removal.
Come to an Event
From the Ice Cream Social to Movies in the Park and community meals, our events are free and open to all. Many need a few extra hands, too.
Give
Gifts from neighbors keep our programs, events, and staff going all year. Every gift, big or small, helps.
