Join the SAPCC Environment Committee for our annual Kasota Ponds Clean Up Day – April 29th (DATE CHANGE), 2023 from 10am-2pm.
Our local wetlands need your help! Lend a hand cleaning up litter around Kasota Ponds. Located off Highway 280, these three water bodies are home to a variety of turtles, migratory waterfowl, fish, songbirds, mammals, invertebrates, and pollinator-friendly plants. Last year volunteers removed 2,200 lbs. of trash and recyclables and in 2023 we hope to collect even more!
Come alone or with family and friends anytime during the four-hour event. It’s a great way to get outdoors, meet your neighbors, and enhance the health of our local environment.
Work gloves, safety vests, and trash bags will be provided. Volunteers are encouraged to wear clothing that can get dirty and dress warmly. Light refreshments will be provided.
In case of inclement weather, the rain date will be Sunday, April 30th, 10 a.m. to 2 p.m.
Volunteers are able to come and go as they please in the 4 hour clean up period. Whether you’re an early riser or want some post brunch activity, grab some friends and neighbors and RSVP below!
We will provide light refreshments and clean up supplies for our volunteers.
