Update on delayed construction timeline

Work to reconstruct Cleveland Avenue from Como Avenue to Larpenteur Avenue was previously expected to begin in spring of 2021. The start of construction has been delayed as the county works to finalize the transfer of land ownership from the University of Minnesota to Ramsey County. This legal work has taken longer than anticipated and must be completed before construction can start.

Construction is currently expected to begin later this year and last through fall 2023. Work will not begin until after the conclusion of the 2021 Minnesota State Fair. All work completed this year will be minor and take place off the main roadway.

Major construction will begin in 2022 and involve road closures and detours.
