Background

Luther Seminary and Lifestyle Communities entered into a purchase agreement for the future acquisition of the Luther Seminary Lower Campus, which includes Northwestern Hall, Stub Hall and Breck Woods, and crosses the border into the City of Lauderdale.

At its April 3, 2025 meeting, the Saint Anthony Park Community Council determined that the potential redevelopment called for proactive community input and adopted a resolution to establish a Task Force. The Task Force serves in an advisory capacity only, reports to the Council, and engages the developer fairly and impartially to refine plans before broader neighborhood review. Lifestyle Communities also hosted several open houses to share development concepts and gather community feedback.

On June 10, 2025, Luther Seminary announced its intent to sell the rest of its campus, with operations scheduled to conclude at the end of the 2026/2027 school year. See the announcement.

The Task Force is reconvening this fall to plan more neighbor engagement. The Community Council receives Task Force updates at its monthly meetings, and this page will be updated as more information is available.
