The St. Anthony Park Community Council (SAPCC) is forming a special task force to advise on the future of the “Lower Campus” property (1501 Fulham Street), recently acquired by a developer. While construction plans are still in the very early stages, discussions have already begun – including a neighborhood open house hosted by the developer, Lifestyle Communities, on April 15, 2025, at Olson Campus Center.

The open house served as a listening session, giving neighbors a chance to reflect on the site’s past and share their thoughts on its future. Rather than unveiling new plans, Lifestyle Communities – a firm known for the Zvago Cooperative in St. Anthony Park – presented past development concepts and challenges, such as those tied to the nearby Breck Woods. Attendees viewed what’s been proposed over the years, raised concerns like traffic impacts on Fulham Street, and offered ideas for how the property could best serve the community moving forward.

SAPCC’s goal is to ensure that the voices of local residents, businesses, and community organizations are included in shaping the development before plans are finalized. The newly-formed task force will meet regularly with the developer, gather community feedback, and bring important concerns and recommendations to the SAPCC Board of Directors. This proactive approach mirrors efforts in other Twin Cities neighborhoods, like the input process for the Allianz Field development in the Hamline-Midway neighborhood.

If you are interested in serving on this SAPCC task force or want to learn more, please email SAPCC at info@sapcc.org. If you don’t have time to join the task force, you can attend the Land Use Committee, which meets monthly and will have regular updates as the project progresses. This is a great opportunity to get involved, represent diverse viewpoints, and help shape the future of our neighborhood.
